Two layers of the stack

preventionOS and your coalition management tool.

Coalition Manager runs the coalition. preventionOS runs the prevention work inside a member organization. Statewide coalition bodies use coalition-management software to handle membership, dues, and coalition operations. The member organizations inside those coalitions, the CACs, the rape crisis centers, the DV programs, the APS workforce education units, run their own prevention training, certify their own facilitators, and report their own outcomes to funders. That is what preventionOS is built for.

Capability matrix

Two tools at two levels of the stack.

Coalition Manager and preventionOS are not competitors. They sit at different layers. Coalition Manager is built for the coalition itself as the user. preventionOS is built for the program team inside a member organization as the user. The matrix is for prevention organizations deciding which tool they need for which problem.

Who it serves
The coalition itself. Statewide networks, multi-organization collaboratives, association-style bodies. The entity above the member organizations.
The prevention program team inside a member organization. Directors of Prevention, coordinators, facilitators. The team running the day-to-day prevention work.
Membership management
Core capability. Member directory, dues, member-only portals, public-facing directory.
Not in scope. preventionOS does not track coalition membership or dues.
Online dues and donation processing
Core capability. Members pay dues online; donations process through the same platform.
Not in scope. preventionOS does not handle dues collection or donation processing.
Multi-curriculum prevention training delivery
Event registration and attendance tracking at the coalition-event level. Not built for delivering prevention curricula as ongoing training programs.
Multi-curriculum on one tenant. Registration, demographics, pre/post outcomes, branded certificates, configurable reminders. Built around how prevention training actually runs week to week.
Facilitator certification lifecycle
Not in scope. Facilitator certifications are not a coalition-management object.
Facilitators have their own certification record. Active, expiring, lapsed status with configurable expiration alerts. The 25-dropped-cert pattern stops happening.
Pre/post outcomes for prevention funders
Not in scope. Coalition-level reports describe coalition activity, not participant knowledge gain or attitude change.
Pre/post knowledge gain, attitude change, and intent to act, with recertification-aware analytics. Reports map to how prevention funders ask the question.
Prevention demographics dictionaries
Not in scope. Standardized prevention demographic fields are not part of coalition operations software.
Standardized prevention demographics dictionaries aligned to HHS, SAMHSA, OVW, OJJDP, ACL, and state funder schemas.
Stakeholder data exports for the program team
Reports are coalition-facing: member activity, dues status, event attendance.
Configurable exports for the funders, state agencies, and accrediting bodies the program team reports to. Built into the platform, not a custom integration project.
Where it sits in the stack
The coalition layer. One tenant per coalition; member organizations are records inside it.
The program-team layer. One tenant per member organization, with the program team running its own training, certs, and reporting.
Where the two stacks meet

A member organization usually needs both.

Coalition-facing: Coalition Manager.

Paying coalition dues, accessing the member directory, registering for the coalition's annual conference, receiving member communications. That work lives in the coalition's Coalition Manager tenant, where the coalition is the user.

Program-facing: preventionOS.

Running this quarter's training cohorts, tracking your facilitators' recertification, reporting pre/post growth to your funder, handing your state agency the demographics export they ask for. That work lives in the member organization's preventionOS tenant, where the program team is the user.

The handoff between them.

If the coalition asks members for activity numbers each quarter, preventionOS can produce the export in whatever format the coalition's reporting cycle wants. The program team runs the work in preventionOS, hands the export to the coalition, and the coalition aggregates upward however its own systems work.

Frequently asked

Running preventionOS alongside Coalition Manager.

Is preventionOS a replacement for Coalition Manager?
No. They sit at different levels of the stack. Coalition Manager runs the coalition entity: membership, dues, the member directory, coalition events. preventionOS runs the prevention work inside a member organization: training delivery, facilitator certifications, pre/post outcomes, funder reporting. Many of the same prevention organizations would benefit from both.
Our coalition uses Coalition Manager. Can our member organizations use preventionOS?
Yes. Each member organization that runs prevention training (a CAC, a rape crisis center, a DV program, an APS workforce education unit) can run preventionOS as their own program-team operating system. The coalition continues to use Coalition Manager for member management; the member organizations use preventionOS for the operational prevention work inside their own walls.
Our coalition needs training tracking across our members. Does preventionOS handle that?
preventionOS is built for the program team inside a member organization, not the coalition itself. If your coalition wants aggregate visibility across member organizations, that is a roadmap area for preventionOS and is the strength of coalition-management software like Coalition Manager today. The clearest fit for preventionOS is the program team running the work at the member-organization level.
Why two systems instead of one?
Coalition operations and prevention program operations are different workflows shaped differently. Coalition Manager is the right tool for membership, dues, and member-facing coalition operations. preventionOS is the right tool for multi-curriculum training delivery, facilitator certification lifecycles, pre/post outcomes, and the operational reporting prevention funders ask for. Treating both as one product means one of the two halves gets short-changed.
What does it cost a member organization to run preventionOS alongside Coalition Manager?
preventionOS is priced per organization, banded by participant volume and module mix. The Training module is live today; the other four modules (Strategic Planning, Community Outreach Manager, Legislative Research, Research) are in development.
