Why preventionOS exists
The prevention field has never had shared infrastructure. preventionOS is the platform we needed and never had. A short note on why we are building it.
The prevention field has never had shared infrastructure.
Funders demand outcomes. Organizations do the work. The data and the lessons learned never travel between organizations. Cross-org learning happens at conferences and never on platform. Programs duplicate effort across thousands of organizations because there has been no shared place to publish what works.
That is the problem preventionOS exists to solve.
Two layers, one platform
preventionOS is two things at once.
Each prevention organization runs its own tenant. The operational layer that replaces the spreadsheets, the free tools, the email chains, the certificate templates, the manual reporting. Registration through certificates through state reporting, in one platform built for the work.
And every organization is being connected to a sector-wide field of curricula, demographics templates, evaluation question sets, and aggregate impact data. The community layer, in development. Opt-in, anonymized, member-owned. The first time the prevention field has had shared infrastructure.
Built with the field
Carousel Child Advocacy Center is the founding design partner. Every workflow on preventionOS exists because the team running real prevention training validated it. As more prevention organizations adopt the platform, more named contributors shape what it becomes next.
Preventionos.org is where the public-facing story lives. The roadmap page tracks what is shipped, what is shipping, and what is in development. We do not claim community features that are not live.
If you run a prevention program, if you are a state coalition or a national network, if you are a researcher who would benefit from clean field-wide data, we would love to talk. The demo page is the starting point.
